austrian antique farmhouse wardrobe
The farmhouse wardrobe from Styria was originally completely painted. As is very often the case, rustic furniture was completely painted over in later times. During restoration, layers are removed to reveal the first layer. With this wardrobe we were able to get this first layer from 1859 in the panels and the frieze. The rest was taken off. The result is an interesting juxtaposition of painted surfaces and blank wood. The wardrobe has a profiled cornice and a profiled skirting board, as well as inclined pilaster strips, has an original lock and the same keys and fittings. The door has a frame construction and has blessing monograms in the panels. The feet are conical square parts.
A classic, well-proportioned wardrobe with a beautiful patina and a special blue.
