small farmhouse cabinet
The small peasant cabinet in softwood comes from Styria and is around 200 years old. The division of the frame door into the four painted fields as well as the wonderful proportions of the cabinet make it a special piece of furniture. Originally, the cabinet was certainly completely painted. Since the painting was badly worn in places, we decided to remove the paint as a primer and leave the painting in the fillings and slanted pilasters. This creates a charming contrasting look between the painting and the honey-colored patina. Details like the trapezoidal board above the door or the handle in the center of the door give the cabinet a fine touch.
