wedding cabinet dated 1766

The wedding cabinet is dated 1766 and comes from the Salzkammergut region. Both the carpenter and the painter of this cabinet belonged to the very good of their profession. There are fillings not only on the doors, but also in the pilasters. They are framed by strong profile moldings and decorated with lusty hearts and detailed flowers. In the frieze we can see the year, initials and floral motifs. The division of the cabinet into stepped cornice, frieze, central body, plinth zone is wonderfully balanced.
