This wedding chest comes from a wonderful collection of Slovak wedding chests. It captivated me because I love its colors, motifs, and the seemingly random way they’re arranged. The black background is very distinctive. The crisp white and enchanting yellow, as well as the vibrant orange-red, look like fabric against the black background. I wish I had a hand-sewn dress made from it 😊 The dimensions of the wedding chest add to its uniqueness. It is almost as tall as it is deep. On the sides are iron handles accentuated by painted branches. The top is finished with a molded trim featuring a protruding base. A 19th-century chest with a distinctive character!
