The sideboard, also known as a console table, has the very charm that makes us love antiques. The original finish is now uneven. It’s most worn down around the drawer handles. The top shows signs of use that have layered so beautifully over time that this is precisely why it’s so appealing. All the edges are rounded. The patina is rich. A piece of furniture that creates a warm atmosphere in the living room, bedroom, entryway, or kitchen—and is a practical piece of furniture. The top provides ample display space, and the drawers offer plenty of storage. The sideboard appears light thanks to the delicate construction of its legs and bracing, as well as its thin top. The console dates to the mid- to late 19th century.
