The painted wedding cabinet was given to Maria Anzengruber. A small wooden plaque is attached to the cornice with the following text: “Maria Anzengruber I’m called. Heaven is my fatherland”. It rhymes with German. The year of origin 1818 is also noted there. The wedding cabinet is a wonderful example of quality furniture of its time. The veneer painting forms the solid background. The painted fields on the doors and in the pilaster strips show bouquets of flowers whose organic forms are emphasized and distance themselves from the usual loveliness. The sections of a village square are depicted in the naïve, self-conscious way that we love in farmhouse furniture. The smooth curve of the doors and the cornice, as well as the profiled beater strip, give the wedding cabinet a noble touch. A few lines in black add an interesting accent. A beautiful cabinet with a great patina!
