The painted wall cabinet may be a small piece of furniture, but it has a strong presence. The few design elements—fluting, veneer painting, and color scheme — were used boldly and confidently. The green diamond in the panel consists of narrow flutes, which are slightly wider to the left and right of the door, increasingly wider in the pilaster strips, and widest on the side walls. The veneer painting forms the background, which is brought to life by the green elements. The cornice and base are wonderfully proportioned. The different widths of the flutes give the cabinet a particularly sculptural appearance. The flutes are the unmistakable feature of this gem. The small piece of furniture, which is about 200 years old, has two small drawers hidden inside.
