painted and carved chest

The painted and carved chest dates from the 18th century. It is rich in motifs and structure. The muted colour scheme makes the farmhouse chest interesting and mysterious. The front is divided into numerous panels and accentuated by mouldings. Each field is either decorated with carving or filled with ornaments, stylised floral or animal motifs. The lid is framed, the lock and key as well as the hinges are perfect. There are iron handles on the sides. An extraordinary chest with much to discover.
