The small farmer’s armoire in bare wood is a charming cabinet. It fulfills all the criteria that make a piece of furniture a pleasing sight: successful proportions, wonderful patina, beautiful details. The profiled bevelled edge, the framed panels with carved spandrels, the charmingly contoured plinth board, such as the delicate cornice and the offset profiled crossbar above the door characterize the farmer’s cabinet. Hidden inside is a drawer and surprisingly beautiful iron hinges. The lock and key perfectly complement the flattering overall appearance. The farmer’s cupboard comes from Styria and was made around 1800.
