corner cabinet dated 1640 (!)

The corner cabinet fascinates by its surface, simple construction, fittings and its year of origin 1640. Originally it was a cabinet, the back wall of which was in a desolate condition, so we converted it into a corner cabinet in our workshop. The motifs leave room for interpretation, but IHS for “in hoc signum” is clearly readable. The patina is deep and rich. Fittings, lock and key are from the 18th/19th century. The austere simplicity of the frame together with the dreaminess of the motifs and the naive writing of the year inspire.
