This decorative chair is the result of superb craftsmanship and an outstanding sense of form and proportion. The contours of all four panels, with their graceful curves, as well as the design of the surfaces—featuring both solid and openwork sections—and the decoration using incised lines and bas-relief carving on the seat and backrest, all attest to a passionate approach to the craft. Even the connection between the front and rear panels has been achieved with a finely contoured brace. The patina of this chair is magnificent! Dating from the 19th century, it features motifs from the Gothic period (trefoil) and the Renaissance (heraldic designs). This chair commands attention and is also a fully functional, comfortable chair.
