The iron candlestick dates back to the 18th century. It is not only functional, but also very decorative. The design is sturdy and elegant. The rigid iron spring shaft creates transparency and makes it appear light. The curved handle and the curved feet give the candlestick that certain something. Not to forget the small iron loop on the shaft, which serves purely aesthetic purposes. I find that mounting the candlestick directly on the plate is very consistent with the overall design.
