The softwood bench is around 200 years old and stands out due to its high backrest. This gives the bench an interesting character. However, the height alone would not be enough. It is the backrest as a whole that is wonderfully successful: the different widths of the frame, the delicate rungs, the pretty finish at the end of the crossbar.
