painted folk art cabinet
The cabinet is a remarkable piece of furniture. It fascinates in its unusual design, its strong earthy colors and its deep patina. The cabinet was undoubtedly intended for a special occasion in 1818 in the life of an owner with the initials MRF. The cabinet consists of two cupboards on top of each other. Between them there is a drawer. The doors each have a painted center panel framed with profiled moldings. These frames are repeated to the left and right of the doors on the body of the cabinet. The cornice is curved, extending upwards and finding its conclusion in its volutes. The center is accented by a wooden application. A rare piece of furniture with radiance!
