The Styrian farmer’s armoire from 1846 is made of larch wood which has a wonderful patina. The panels of the framed door are worth a closer look: The reddish-brown frame has several mouldings and highlights the field. The resulting three-dimensionality makes the panels look like framed pictures. The corners of one field are cut out and emphasised by a carved knob. The motifs are reminiscent of a tree of life. They are both naive and poetic. A cabinet that radiates durability and subtlety.
