austrian antique painted farmhouse wardrobe
The distinctive farmer’s cupboard fully lives up to its purpose as a wedding cupboard. The dating of 1850 under the cornice reveals the year in which Agnes Weis, so called Bacherin, got married. You can find the name in the fillings below the cornice. The painting is skillful and conveys elegance. There are also fillings in the sloping pilaster strips and in the plinth area. The cornice is marbled, the sides, the base and the frame of the door are painted in veneer. The door is built in a frame construction and has simple cranked panels with a bouquet of flowers in a classical vase. The base and cornice are profiled. The interior is designed with a drawer and wooden hooks. The lock and key are perfect.
